Many thanks and a warm welcome from our parish.

It has a been a week of change within the parish.  Last weekend - 28th August, we celebrated our last mass with our much loved, and now retiring Priest, Father Michael Hickey.  After years of service he leaves our parish a spiritually richer community that has seen real growth in so many ways.  Father Hickey has a great way of explaining things and both his articulate sermons and his informal chats will be missed.  We all wish you a happy well deserved retirement.

We must also thank Father Greg our regular visiting Priest from Poland for his humour, wisdom and music during his annual visit to the parish.  We hope you can continue these visits and you are always welcome.

Stepping into Father Hickey's shoes is Father Martin Morris, formally of St. Aloysius, Hebburn.

We welcome him into our parish community and look forward to working with him to further build our community.

Rumour has it that he has a rather good sense of humour and supports Sunderland Football Club - we are however not sure if one is needed for the other!

Have YOU got any suggestions?

Thanks to your support and involvement the Justice and Peace bank balance is looking rather healthy.
We are now looking for suggestions as to good causes that the parish can donate to.
This money has been raised specifically to assist justice and peace good causes both here in the UK and overseas therefore donations can only be made to causes that promote increased justice and/or peace.
If you have any ideas please contact a member of the Justice and Peace Group or use the contact form on this website.
We look forward to hearing from you with your ideas.  If you would like more information please visit our Justice and Peace page here...
